RECOMPRESSION CHAMBER FAMILIARISATION

This course is designed to give a basic understanding of being inside the chamber as an internal attendant and outside as a chamber operator.  Pupils receive basic recompression theory including the common therapeutic tables, dealing with high partial pressures of oxygen and general safety precautions involved with operating a recompression chamber.  There are a number of practical sessions that demonstrate the workings of a chamber and a session that demonstrates how to conduct basic assessments of divers with suspected decompression sickness as well as some related basic first aid principles. This 2-day course satisfies the recompression requirements of the HSE SCUBA course.
