DIGITAL UNDERWATER CAMERA WORKSHOP This workshop is run over 5 days and is designed to maximise the practical time participants have to explore the advantages of digital underwater cameras for use in scientific or archaeological projects. Although based principally on the use of digital SLR stills cameras, participants are free to bring their own cameras, either stills or video. A number of digital stills and video cameras are available for participants to borrow. Participants are given some formal training in how to get the best from their cameras, both while in the field and then afterwards when the images are transferred to photographic manipulation software packages. However, the main objective is to give as much time underwater as possible. The workshop ends with a very informal (but usually highly competitive) image competition. Entry requirements: All participants must hold a CMAS 3* equivalent diving qualification and an in-date HSE Diving at Work medical certificate. Copies of diving qualifications, medical certificates and the last 10 dive logs are required with each application. The cost per participant is £250 + VAT for the whole workshop. Participants are responsible for all travel and accommodation requirements and costs. Participants can apply to NFSD for support using the NFSD support application form. Applications to NFSD must be received at least 6 weeks before the start of the workshop. |
